OWN’ing the conversation about hair

Beauty: Are You Judged by Your Hair? is a segment of Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Black Women OWN the Conversation” series that’s near and dear: black women and hair.

The forum features “women from the audience sharing their stories and perspectives regarding the hairstyles they choose to wear and address the stigmas surrounding wearing natural hairstyles, weaves and wigs.”

The panel had luminaries Stacey Abrams, the former Georgia Congresswoman and gubernatorial candidate; Grammy-winning singer Monica, and comedian Kym Whitley; it was moderated by Carlos Watson, CEO of media company OZY.
