Kat Graham, multi-talented actress, singer, dancer and model shared her unexpectedly emotional hair care routine under quarantine on the VOGUE magazine Youtube platform. Known for her role as Bonnie on The CW series The Vampire Diaries and for playing Jada Pinkett Smith in All Eyez on Me, Graham – in a private moment – let her viewers know about her hair journey. Lacefront wigs and the use of glue, particularly as a working actress in Hollywood, not to mention relying solely on to the salon for hair care since age 9, Graham had spent most of her life not really knowing how to care for her hair nor able to show its true state to others. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, Graham was forced to go DIY and used the opportunity to discover her hair texture and how to work with it. She received hair care advice from her trusted stylist, who suggested that she use Cantu Leave-In Conditioner.
The shared hair care regimen became a moment of emotion when Graham talked about what it felt like to finally find products and techniques suited for her. She even let us know that she had recently experienced her first time time owning an Afro pick, which she admitted she “never thought I’d own.”
In a final moment of reflection, she added: “I hope that I can one day play a character that I actually look like.”
